As a result, Hypocrella calendulina and Hypocrella luteola are named as new species with Aschersonia sensu stricto anamorphs for specimens previously identified as Hypocrella discoidea sensu Petch. Hypocrella siamensis and Aschersonia minutispora are described as new species, both exhibiting brown stromata, with the former producing whole ascospores.
