Morphology
Stroma: 

Stromata solitary to several, simple or branched, 20-110 mm in height. Stipe fibrous to tough, rarely fleshy, dark brownish to greenish with olivaceous tint, rarely whitish, cylindrical to enlarging in fertile part. Stroma connected directly to host or indirectly through rhizomorph-like structure. Fertile part clavate to capitate, rarely undifferentiated, 5-20 x 5-15 mm.

 
Perithecia: 

Perithecia ovoid, 650-950 x 250-420 um, partially or completely immersed in stromata, ordinal in arrangement.

 
Asci: 

Asci cylindrical with thickened ascus apex, 350-540 x 10-12 um.

 
Ascospores: 

Ascospores cylindrical, multiseptate, hyaline, disarticulating into part-spores.  Partspores 8-25 (32) x 2.5-3 um.

Host or Substrate: 

on truffle Elaphomyces (Ascomycota, Fungi)

Notes
Commentary: 

Reported growing on Elaphomyces cervinus and E. granulatus, among others.
