Morphology
Stroma: 

Stromata solitary, simple, and 50-120 mm in length arrising from the fruiting body of Elaphomyces [Eurotiomycete, Ascomycota] species, an ectomycorrhizal truffle.  Stipe 4-6 mm wide, pale gray, distinctly separated from fertile area.  Fertile region capitate to depressed-globose, 5-12 mm in diameter, and dark gray in color.

 
Perithecia: 

Perithecia ordinal, immersed, ampullaceous, tall and narrow, 900-930 x 220-250 um.

Asci: 

Asci 10 um wide with apical cap, 6-7 um in diameter.

Ascospores: 

Disarticulating into fusoid partspores, 16-18 x 3 um.
