Morphology
Stroma: 

Stroma several, 10cm long with rhizomorphs connecting above ground portion to host in soil.  Stipe and fertile region pale green.

Perithecia: 

Perithecia flask shaped, ordinal, immersed, opening with a dark brown pore, 406 –531 X 170 –200µm.

Asci: 

Asci cylindrical, 188 –313 X 3–3.2 µm.  Apical cap hemispherical, 2 X 3µm.

Ascospores: 

Ascospores filiform, hyaline, 180 –300 X 0.94 µm, forming cylindrical partspores 5.7– 8.1 X 0.94 µm
