Morphology
Stroma: 

Strama simple or more usually branch, arising from mouth of infected larva of Lepidoptera. Stipe slender and firm, usually curved, 20-30 x 1.5-2.3 mm. Fertile region cylindrical or clava, yellow brown, brown to black brown, with sterile terminal part.

Perithecia: 

Perithecia superficial, ellipsoid to ovoid, 400-740 x 300-450 um, brown.

Asci: 

Asci cylindrical, 260-480 x 8-12 um

Ascospores: 

Ascospores filiform, hyaline to pale brown,  multiseptate, 160-350 x 2.5-3.5 um, breaking up into fragments, 10-20 x 2.5-3.5
