Morphology
Stroma: 

 Stromata 17 mm in height, arising from Coleopteran larva.  Stipe cyclindrical, 7-8 x 0.8 mm, brown.  Fertile area cylindrical to clavate, 4 x 1.2 mm, tan in color, terminating in an aperithecial appendage which is sometimes divided and 4 mm in length.  

 
Perithecia: 

 Perithecia pyriform, completely immersed, 340-360 x 150 um.  

Asci: 

 Asci 6 um wide, apical cap 3.5-4 um in diameter.  

Ascospores: 

 Ascospores separating into partspores.  Partspores 5-10 x 1.5 um.
