North America. The description does not give an exact location, but mentions examination of specimens collected from Cranberry, North Carolina and Burbank Tennessee.
Morphology
Perithecia: 

Flask shaped, pseudo immersed in loose mycelium, amber colored, minutely rugose, naked above or with scattered, white tufts of mycelium.

Asci: 

Cylindric, capitate, 280-330 X 5µm
