Morphology
Stroma: 

Stromata gregarious, fleshy, red to reddish-orange, 6-8 mm in length, arrising from a Lepidopteran pupa.  Stipe short, 1.8-2.5 x 0.7-1 mm, glabrous.  Fertile area clavate, 3.8-6 x 1-1.8 mm. 

 
Perithecia: 

Perithecia completely immersed, ampullaceous, 350-360 x 100-120 um,

Asci: 

Asci cylindrical, 3-4 um wide, with apical cap 2 um in diameter.

Ascospores: 

Ascospores 23-30 x 1 um, 3-6 septate, disarticulating into partspores.
